NYX Nude on Nude Palette

It's surprising being the NYX fanatic that I am.. but I am just getting the Nude on Nude palette! NYX's palette of 20 eye shadows and 10 lip colors is their take on the very popular Naked palette by Urban Decay. The shadows for the most part are a mix of browns & beiges and a white with black and some deeper browns which is perfect for a smoky eye look. There are 8 matte shadows, the other 12 being a mix of shadows with glitter, shine and frost. They are all well pigmented. Having such a mix of textures in my opinion makes it somewhat superior to the UD version. UD is amazing but they're insistence in doing palettes with hardly and matte shades is a bit frustrating.
This palette also comes with 10 lip colors that are selected for the looks made with the shadows. That could be debated, but it's good to have extra lip colors. I myself am not a big fan of lip products with my eye shadow palettes... but that's just Me.  NYX's Nude on Nude is $25 and UD's is $48. At a cost that's nearly half of UD's palette and considering the undeniable quality of NYX's I'd say it's a must have item. I Love It!
(there's also a double sided sponge applicator and lip brush included)

Small ELF Haul

I needed to replenish the things I love by ELF Cosmetics so I made an order because I cannot find the items I need at either of my local Target's.  From the top row: Probably my most favorite thing ELF makes is their Cool Bronzer, it has no shimmer and it great for use as bronzer or contour.  The High Definition Powder, I absolutely love it. In my opinion it's just as good as MUFE HD Powder yet it's only $6 ( warning: you don't a lot of product ). I know some people have issues with using the HD powders.. what you need to remember is it's all in the buffing. You MUST buff this product out very well or You will have disastrous results. Second row: The Creme Eyeliner in Black. I've recently discovered that I like this product from them. It lasts a long time (all day not 24hrs) and it doesn't fade. Next..the Liquid Eyeshadow in Sexy Silver. Well... I went to go use it after having it for 2 weeks and it was completely dried out. Need I say anymore? Then a Mineral Shadow in a purple shade called Flirty. I've yet to wear it, I watched it & it's beautiful. Bottom row: I got 2 Creme Shadows one in Black Licorice and the other in Butter Pecan. I primarily use these as a base for a powdered shadow that's similar in color.

Quick Mention: Maybelline Master Drama Eye Liner

Maybelline is a brand that I don't really use except for their Mascaras..love the Falsies! But I succumbed to the marketing and tried the Master Drama Eye Liner and Loved It! It's a creamy pencil, comes in 5 colors I believe and promises a 24hour wear. The color I have is Coal Commander and I can attest to the long wear.. I don't know about 24hour (who does that? lol) but it lasted all day and night ( I wore it about 15hours).
I have to say it stacks up to it's higher end counter parts. I got it for $7.99.
Remember when drugstore brands were really cheap? $7.99 is not exactly expensive.. but I'm just sayin' ;-)

NYX Lipsticks, Lipliners & Lip Gloss

I was in need of some new lipsticks so I went to one of my local beauty supply stores (best place near me) to get Me some NYX!  First let me say that these lipsticks are so moisturizing! It's a lip balm and lip color all in one.
Starting from the right: The gorgeous Fuchsia Pink lip gloss called 'African Queen'.. I am in love with it. Highly recommended. The Lipsticks: (LtoR) 'Hades' Which is a good nudish color for me. I've since discovered another NYX Lipstick called 'Tea' (not pictured) even better as a nude!
An orange color with a little shimmer called 'NYX' it's Ok, not one of my favorites.
Next is 'Very Berry' a rich wine color. Followed by 'Electra' a blue based Red. It's absolutely gorgeous, reminds me of MACs Ruby Woo. Then lying in front: 'Medusa' the perfect Vamp lipstick. Somewhat similar to 'Very Berry' but richer & deeper, reminds me of MACs 'Under World'. Then I got two Lipliners (LtoR) 'Currant', which I got because I thought it would be the counterpart to MACs Currant...not so. It's not as pigmented and it has a slight shimmer to it. Me no likey. And, 'Plum' which is a classic Plum color.
The Lipticks were $5 each, the Lip gloss $6 and Lipliners $3 each.

In Love with INGLOT!

I have completely fallen in love with INGLOT. I got this 5 pan palette of their eyeshadows at IMATS NYC in April. They more than lived up to all the hype I had been reading and hearing about. The pigment is out of this world and the amount of product you get for the price is amazing. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love NYX products, well INGLOT has come along and evened out the playing field. I have heard so many people say INGLOT is the new MAC and I have to say I totally agree. MAC has decent products but this ideal of them being the standard is about time being challenged. The only thing I don't like about INGLOT is this number system instead of naming their colors. Names would be sooo much better.
The colors in the palette I have all have a shimmer to them, glitter in some cases. I made the mistake of throwing away the plastic casing they come in so I don't remember the numbers unfortunately. (left to right) The Orange is the boldest I have ever had. The next is a Purple.. it's photographing as really Red, it is not that red in person. There is a reddish undertone to this purple but not as pronounced as this picture implies. The Yellow is a perfect primary Yellow. The Blue is very interesting... it's a kind if sky blue yet somewhat deep... it's gorgeous. And the Black is crazy.. in a good way! It's like MAC's Black Tied times 20. It's a very deep dark pigmented black with gold and reddish shimmers throughout... Fabulous!!
It took me a while to really get into the shadows but once I did... Wow! I'm in Love. Since having this palette I've gotten to try their other products and the whole line is excellent. Everything I've tried is of top notch quality. Thankfully we have a store here in Times Square.. which I've stayed away from on purpose... I'm saving it for my birthday. Next month is my birthday and the INGLOT store will be my gift to myself.
Yes my name is Brittany and I am obsessed. If there's a cure for this I don't want it! LOL
Stay tuned for a Haul :-)

I LOVE These Eyeliners!

I haven't posted in quite sometime, but I'm back! I didn't have a camera for a while and this season I have been very busy. Thank God! LOL Well, I'm choosing one of latest obsessions as the first thing to blog about since my hiatus...  Milani's Liquif'eye Eyeliners... they are Amazing. This is one of those things I kept seeing people review and use in tutorials yet I had never tried them myself. Boy was I missing out.. once I tried them I don't know how I survived without them!
They go on so smooth & creamy, crazy amazing pigment and once they are on they are ON! As Milani promises they are truly smudge-proof. Once applied if you want to smudge them out move quickly because after 60 seconds or less they don't budge. They are similar to Urban Decay's 24/7 Pencil in this respect. Even if you like using MakeUp Forever's Aqua Liner this would be a good dupe.. they are not waterproof like the MUFE pencil but unless your swimming it would work fine.
I had an allergy attack one night wearing this liner, wiped my eyes several times... liner was intact!
At $7 a pop it's half the price or less than the other two. Big thumbs up, A must have!

pictured  above are colors: green, blue, purple, and a purple glitter called purple quartz

The NYX 'All I've Ever Wanted Box'

Continuing my love affair with NYX Cosmetics I not too long ago got my first large palette from them. They have truly become my favorite as far as eye shadow goes, the pigment is out of this world. I am totally in love with this palette, I use it nearly every day! It blows the Coastal Scents palettes out of the water. NYX is high end quality at affordable prices!
It comes with 72 eye shadows.. a mix of shimmers and matte finishes. Then when you slide the top layer side ways it opens up to 6 lip colors, 4 blushes, a highlight, a contour, a bronzer and a face powder.
On the NYX website this palette is $28 however I paid about $17 for it on the bargain site HauteLook.com. Join HauteLook and you can save on everything from cosmetics, to shoes, clothing, things for the house and much more. The sales vary from 40% off and up! It's an excellent place to get designer things for much, much cheaper prices. Just FYI: it's takes about a month to receive your purchases, so keep that in mind.                               Xoxox Brittany

Shopping Haul!

Starting from the left: I got 2 ELF Hypershine Liplosses in Fairy & Blossom $1. Back row: Lipstick by Covergirl in Enthrall Charme. I got four brushes: white brush Sonia Kashuk Shaped Blending Brush $4.99 middle blk brush ELF Studio Blush Brush $3 next Target Medium Shadow Brush $2.49 in front Target Kabuki Brush $5.99. Then I finally got the two Wet n Wild Trios I've been wanting since they came out! Left to right: I'm Feeling Retro & Spoiled Brat $3.99 each.

The Hypershine Lipglosses I feel in love with a few weeks ago, so I just got that they had there.
I lost my Kabuki so I wanted a new one... I haven't really used this one yet but I like the denseness of the bristles I expect it to be good. As you can see there's something against me getting these Wet n Wild trios. I finally got the 2 I've been dying for, then get it home and drops it on the floor and the white in the I'm Feeling Retro breaks :( Grrrr LOL But I have them! & I tried them the pigment is ridiculous! The Covergirl Lipstick is very creamy and moisturizing. I think they've changed their formula, this was not the case in the past. I recommend it!

ps: I went to this store while I was out ONLY to get a new Kabuki. So much for self control! :-D
                                                                                                                                   Brittany xoxo

Orange-U-Purple

I loved wearing this look. Very colorful eyes. Very orange. Very purple. The colors on the eyes are entirely NYX, I will be posting something about NYX very soon... I'm obsessed! NYX is now my favorite when it comes to eyeshadow. Sorry MAC, I Love NYX now ;) Not to say I don't love other products with good pigment ie: Makeup Forever, Inglot, NARS,etc. But when it comes to price & quality... it's NYX all the way baby!

An ELF Haul!

On the top there's the Complete Coverage Concealer. I've been using these products for the last four days so I could give an accurate review on them. This concealer palette is fabulous! It's quite amazing that for $3 I have a product that's comparable to concealers 10 times it's price! It's very creamy and very easy to blend. It fits my skin color well and it's very light..  it doesn't feel too heavy.  It's lasted throughout the day...which is great. The real test will be to see how it works in summer weather. So far, this item is highly recommended! On the bottom right is the Tinted Moisturizer SPF-20. I'm happy to report I like this as well. I was really looking forward to trying this, it's great to have something lighter for when you don't want to wear foundation. At first I was a little leery... when you first put it on the color is a bit off. But, once you work it into your skin (I think fingers are best) it blends in well and has a nice light coverage. If you can find a match for your skin I think his is awesome! And next, the Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder. This is a decent bronzing powder with a slight shimmer... it would have to be very slight for me to like it! It's a cute powder, nothing too special... not as great as their Cool Bronzer (IMO) but for $1 it works!
Next... I got a lipstick in Posh. Honestly I don't like it. The color which looked so rich online is quite dull & the texture is well...icky LOL What I like a whole lot better is the Hypershine Lipgloss! (it's right under the lipstick) It's an awesome lip gloss... nice color pay off & not very very sticky and it tastes so darn good :-D I'll definitely get some more of these. Then I got some brushes! I got 2 Eyeliner Brushes, 1 Blending Eye Brush, 1 Lip Defining Brush and 1 Total Face Brush. I have so many ELF brushes, they're incredibly economical and surprising good quality. What's even more surprising I like the $1 brushes (which these are) more than most the Studio brushes which are $3. There's a few Studio brushes I live by, otherwise these are fabulous! The days are long gone ladies where I thought I had to spend X amount of dollars on brushes for them to be good. Things have drastically changed! Aren't we lucky!

TAG: How Much Is Your Face Worth?

I'm going to do this TAG about how much your face is. But, I'm going to calculate from what I wear everyday, daytime, etc. I know if I calculated night time it would be so much. So this is what I use on any given day, just going about my day whether it be work or leisure (shopping lol) or whatever. I'm doing the TAG from Christina from Christina Marie says....
Here we go!

1) Clinique  Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion - $24.50

2) ELF Complete Coverage Concealer - $3

3) IMAN Luxury Radiance Liquid Makeup - $15.99

4) NYC Bronzer - $2.99

5) NYC Translucent Powder - $2.99

6) ELF Eyebrow Kit - $3

7) Jordana Khol Eyeliner (Black) - $1.99

8) Maybelline Falsies Mascara (Black) - $8.97

9) MAC Lip Liner (Brown) - $13

10) ELF Cool Bronzer (as Contour) - $3

11) Wet N Wild Lip Balm - $1

12) MAC Clear Lip Glass - $14.50

The grand total is $94.94. I was hoping it was under one hundred but, even though it is I kind of wish it was less! LOL Hmmmm what I could do with $94! Well... at least I know it's no a waste...
right? *sigh*

A Lil Drugstore Haulin'

I have finally been somewhat successful in my search of the new Wet n Wild Trios. I got the last two that Walgreen's had in the store. Why are these so hard to find? lol These probably wouldn't have been my first choice to get, but I just wanted to try them so I got what they had! ;)
The first trio is called 'I Got Good Jeans' & the second green one is called 'I Dream Of Greenie'.
As usual the pigment of their shadows are excellent, especially the 'I Got Good Jeans'... it's incredible. When and if ever I run into the rest I'll be sure to get them!

The next items I got are by Black Radiance. The lipstick is a very rich Fuchsia color which reminds me of the 80's...which I love. The lipsticks are numbered, it's #5004. Then I got a gloss.. the Radiant Lip Gloss in #3431. It's a deep cranberry color with gold glitter through out. It's very pretty, not very sticky as some gloss' but I had to reapply often over one evening, so it doesn't last that long.

Next I'm excited to share my latest favorite IMAN product! IMAN's Perfect Response Oil Blotting  Pressed Powder. I do not know how I survived without this powder up till now. This is the most amazing powder I have EVER used. Coupled with the already very oil absorbing foundations this leaves you with nearly no shine for hours! I like a matte face unless I choose to apply shimmer. I hate it when I have to keep applying powder to keep down the shine...that's why I stopped using MAC foundations. This is yet another winning item from IMAN's makeup line. I swear I get nothing from singing these praises.. her stuff is just that good! Then as recommended by a friend I picked up one of Milani's Metallic Baked Eyeshadows in Purrr-fect Purple. It's pretty, but frankly I expected better pigment from what I had been told. I have even had other shadows by Milani that were more pigmented and they weren't baked. So, not quite a miss, but nothing special.

I have lot more reviews/hauls coming. NYX, MAC & E.L.F.

Navy Eyes & Brown Lips

Dramatic navy blue smoky eyes with my favorite thing of the moment a bold brown lip. You can soften the look by lessening the liner and shadow under then eyes and a sheerer application of the lipstick and less lip gloss. I always say.... more! ;) xoxo

Wonder Woman At MAC!!

I haven't been excited about something from MAC in so long I can't remember when. I'm usually not a fan of their ever present limited edition collections, I just replace my staples. It's the whole concept really... MAC used to be so good What happened? *sigh* I digress. I am super excited about the new Wonder Woman Collection. Mostly because I LOVE Wonder Woman! The packaging is so cool. There's no way I cannot have some of these items in my collection. Here I come MAC!! They are making quite the big deal of it. They opened what they're calling a Pop-up store in downtown Manhattan yesterday (just for the day), it will open officially on February 3rd! According to their press it will ultimately become just a regular MAC store. I am SO there!

Making Faces: My Latest

First I have one of my closest friends Jamie. The objective was to give him the non-makeup look. Accentuate the positives and give him a glow without it being readily recognizable that he's wearing makeup. Not only was Jamie a joy to work with and a perfect model he's so damned handsome it was a breeze! ;)

Next I have Jamie & Donatella. Working with Donatella was rewarding in that I learned a lot about  working with a hooded eye. I have read a lot about it from my inspiration Kevyn Aucoin and watching the amazing Wayne Goss but this was my first on hands experience. I love this pic of them together!

Jamie. Gorgeous!
Thank You to Donatella & Jamie!!

New Brushes & Disappointing Haul :(

I've been crazy busy lately guys. I'm finally back home after a quick trip and staying in too it's freezing in NYC brrrrr. I have so much stuff coming up to share with you. One of my favorite things I've gotten recently is some new brushes. It's a travel kit but they're not as small as some can be & they are pretty good quality. The brushes are from MAC and they were limited edition. They are so great I'd love to have more but when I went to MAC and inquired I was told that is it! I Love these brushes!

After being completely sold on how good Wet n Wild eye shadows are now I was really interested in the new collection they released for 2011. My interest in the new collection was piqued when I read a post on MakeupNme's blog MakeupNme and saw her video! Obviously she was right on the money... and a whole lot of other people feel the same way! Everywhere I went to purchase this collection they were Completely sold out! I went to like 3 Walgreens and 2 RiteAids urgh :( Who'd have thought the day would come when Wet n Wild would be difficult to find! All I could get is one nail polish from the collection. While I really like it that's not what I really wanted! lol
The nail polish is called Saved By The Blue. I also got a Wet n Wild Lipstick (#549A) and an eye shadow by Covergirl: Raisin, it's my fav by them. I use it as a blush as well ;)

Gorgeous Iman, The Talented Sam Fine

Celebrity Makeup Artist and in my opinion absolute genius Sam Fine posted this picture this morning of his latest work on the iconic beauty Iman. His artistry never ceases to amaze me. This is so gorgeous...and timely. Neutral makeup looks are so popular right now, Urban Decay capitalized on this with their wildly successful Naked Palette. This look Sam did on Iman is so simple yet high art... it's sheer perfection. I remain in awe of Sam Fine and my foremost inspiration Iman.

The Shu Uemura Eye Lash Curler. The best on the market hands down.
This is the year I completely fell in love with NYX Eyeshadows. The pigment is amazing! And, the Maybelline Falsies Mascara... one of the best mascara's I've ever tried.

Other mentionables Smashbox Primer, E.L.F. Eye Brow Kit, E.L.F. Eyeliner Pen, MAC Lady Danger Lipstick, Prestige Raven Lipstick, Revlon ColorStay Liquid Foundation, Wet n Wild Lust Palette. Can't wait for all the new fabulous products of 2011! Bring them on!
